2023 Check-in on the players
The teams from these two years were made up of regular girls from Hatfield. They are now in the middle of their adult lives, with careers and families and other achievements. Here's a glimpse into the lives of some of these star players today.
Daphne Belden Gordon 1993
Hi, I’m Daphne Gordon (Belden), I presently live in North Andover MA. I am currently a Senior Project Manager. I am married with two kids. My son plays ice hockey and my daughter does cheerleading, as well as, plays softball and FIELD HOCKEY. I actually help as an assistant coach with grades 7/8. There are enough players that we have three teams made up of just 7th and 8th graders; I guess North Andover is just a little bigger than Hatfield, LOL!! |
Amy Braman 1993
I currently live in Northampton with my partner Doreen and our 3 cats. I have two grown children. My daughter Sky is 25, and works as a peer counselor at CSO. My son Kyle is 22 and is the Event Coordinator at Wyckoff County Club in Holyoke. I am a nurse and I work at the Hampshire County HOC. |
Kelley Brown 1993
I am currently a history/government teacher at Easthampton High School where I have been for the last 23 years. I am also an instructional coach and professional development coordinator at my school. I have also spent the last 5 years creating an open-source K-5 historical inquiry curriculum which is called Private i History Detectives and available through iCivics. I live in Montgomery, MA with my husband and two dogs, where I enjoy peace and quiet after long days at school! My husband and I coach several sports for Special Olympics where I continue to carry forth my love of team sports. |
Natalie Schlegel 1993
My husband Caleb and I live in Sudbury, MA where we are raising two very athletic boys. I have occasionally filled in as a baseball scorekeeper and basketball timekeeper for my sons’ teams which brings me right back! My professional work is leading International Education at Bentley University. |
Briana Paciorek Cabrera 1993
I moved to South Florida twenty years ago and have been living in Parkland for the last eight years. I work at Medtronic where I lead a team of compliance investigators in the Americas, Asia, and China and I'm a board member of Equine-Assisted Therapies of South Florida. I spend most of my free time watching my 11-year old son, Ethan, play travel basketball and I also enjoy spending time with my husband, friends and family. |
Tamra Geryk 1993
I live in Boise Idaho with my husband Tory, son Pax, our two dogs Jackson and Maeve, and we have chickens. We love it here in the high desert with great access to the mountains and vast landscapes of the PNW. We love camping, mountain biking, hiking, and the Farmer's Markets are amazing in Boise. I am a Nurse Practitioner specializing Integrative Women's Health and absolutely love my work. I've met a few East Coasters who know what field hockey is but not many, and there are no organized teams here. It feels like such a past time. |
Kara Jagodzinski Gorey 1993
Kara continues to survive and thrive in western Massachusetts with her husband and two beautiful children. She previously was a teacher in Deerfield for 16 years and paused her career to raise her children, especially her daughter living with epilepsy. She loves to write, cook, and spend time with family and friends at the lake. |
Jen Shea Lane 1993
I live in Middletown, Connecticut with my husband Jimmy, our four kids - Julia (14), Andrew (13), and twins William and Olivia (11) and two dogs - Rookie & Scout. I am in my 23rd year as the Head Softball Coach at Wesleyan University. I was also the assistant field hockey coach at Wesleyan for nine years. Besides coaching college softball, I also run a travel softball organization, Middletown Monarchs. My oldest daughter just started playing field hockey as a high school freshman. I love watching her play and it's brought back so many great memories of my playing days at SA! Thanks for putting this all together!! |

I live in Hatfield with my fiance Ben, and two boys, Dallas & James. I'm the Marketing Director for a Northeast Dental Management Company. In an effort to give back to the program, I'm in my third season of assisting Judy Strong coach the Smith Academy Field Hockey team! My love for the sport derived from my experiences with my SA team and coach Sherry Webb. It led to my college career and to who I am today. |
Alissa Wickles Theberge 1993
Alissa currently lives in Canton, CT with her husband Mike, 17 year-old son Owen and 15 year-old daughter Ruby. During our free time we enjoy watching Ruby’s soccer and basketball games and attending Owen’s drama club plays and musicals. Our family loves to ski together up in Vermont and cheer on the Patriots during football season! |
Renee Zanini Croak 1993
After graduating Smith, Academy, I attended the college of the Holy Cross where I received my bachelors in psychology. Following graduation I volunteered full-time with the Jesuit volunteer corps in the Marshall Islands for two years followed by a year in Boston. I married my wonderful husband, Rob in 2002. I received my masters in special education at Simmons College in 2004 and worked as an elementary special education teacher. I had my first daughter, Courtney, in 2005 my second daughter, Corinne, in 2007 and my third daughter, Colleen, in 2010. We live in Mansfield, MA where I am a substitute teacher. I am very busy supporting my daughters as Courtney is a first year student at the University of Notre Dame, Corinne is a junior in high school, and Colleen is a seventh grader. We also have a wonderful dog named Cora. |
Rachel Tarr Martins 1993
I live in Belchertown with my husband Mike and our 3 daughters Bella, Amalie, and Hazel. I have been an ESL teacher for the last 17 years and currently work at West Springfield Middle School. I am also a life coach for parents. In my free time I like to take walks with my dog and friends, go to dinner at my parent's house in Hatfield with my sister and her family, and drive my kids to sporting events. |
Tricia Cruz 2000
Tricia Cycz here, been living it up out in beautiful Montana since 2006. I live here with my family Shawn, and our two wild and crazy kiddos. Lochlyn our daughter is 5 and Steel our son is 2. I have been working for Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks for over 10 years now raising fish for the state. It’s the best job ever. I haven’t changed much other than im a mom now and have maybe settled down a little bit but not much, Holly and I still live pretty close to each other and still get plenty Loud as always. Holly Cycz 2000
Surprise surprise I fell in love and married a farm boy named Matt from Montana! Then we had (SURPRISE) twins!!!! Boy and girl who are 2.5 yrs old now and they are the funnest craziest blessing that has ever happened to us! My husband is a 4th generation farmer and together we help run the farm operation. Kids are in training! We live in the prairie of Montana right near the Rocky Mountain front. I have been dental assisting for 11 years now also. I love being part of the farm life and love what we do and love where I ended up! |
Kelly Dostal 2000
Following graduation from Smith Academy, Kelly Dostal went on to win three National Championships at Wake Forest University and ended her playing career on the US National Team in 2010. Kelly currently works as a senior leader at Dell Technologies. She resides in the suburbs of Boston and enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and French bulldog, Tate. Kelly has deep love and admiration for the little town of Hatfield and all of the cherished memories from growing up in such a special place! |

I live in Santa Monica, CA with my husband, Eli, and two daughters, Juliet (3) and Violet (1). I work at a digital health company, Omada Health, as the director of clinical product and oversee our diabetes and hypertension programs.I have my masters in nutrition and am a registered dietitian. And I'm always still cheering for the Red Sox! |
Erin Dominov 2000
Living in Charlotte, North Carolina now for the past 2 years. Currently, I’m teaching middle school science for CMS and am a part of the teacher leadership team for my school. I’ve taught in Fall River for 8 years as a 7th grade science teacher before moving to Charlotte. I’ve been teaching for 13 years now. I enjoy going on hikes with my dog and spending time with my family, now that I’m near my mom, brother, sister-in-law and nephew. 2002 SA graduate. Played SA field hockey since 8th grade (1997). |
Megan McGuire 2000
After graduating from Smith Academy, Megan Maguire continued her field hockey career at Smith College, where she played for Hatfield legend Judy Strong. There, she looked forward to the conference games, crossing paths with former teammates Brittney Wickles and Meredith Courtemanche. She currently lives in Chicago with her husband Alistair and wiener dog, Charli and runs the public relations practice of a global communications firm. She’s expecting her first child in November. |
Britney Wickles Robinson 2000
Today, Brittney resides in Tampa, Florida with her husband Steven, and amazing daughters, Ellie (9) and Grace (6). Brittney is currently a 5th grade teacher in Tampa, having recently started her 17th year teaching. Most recently, Brittney had the opportunity to coach brand new field hockey players as the first-ever field hockey league formed in the Tampa area! In her free time, Brittney enjoys attending her daughters' extra curricular activities, relaxing at the beach, and reading. |
LynneAnne Kokoski 2000
Played Basketball at Bryant university - 2004-2008. Stayed there and got my masters degree. Got my coaching start at Bryant in 2009-12. Then went to Providence college as the director of women’s basketball operations until 2016. I left there and moved down to Virginia for three years to coach at the college of William & Mary. In 2019 I moved back to western mass to coach at UMASS for four years. In 2023 I was named head coach at my alma mater Bryant university. |
